My sister-in-law, Melissa, invited me to Buzzfuse.  Buzzfuse allows you to market your blog, allowing it to be viewed by a larger audience.  People can also rate your articles.  It’s a neat thing.  That way you can see what people are interested in reading, therefore you know what to write about. 

 I’m still very new at this blogging thing, so I will let you know how it goes. 

We took Maddy to see a pediatric dentist today. It was less traumatic than I thought. The dentist was absolutely wonderful! I could not have asked for a better experience! Maddy was examined (which she didn’t really like) and given a new toothbrush and some stickers! The dentist said her gums are healing great and she should have no future problems. Adam even liked the experience. Looks like we found a new dentist!

We are finally down in Enterprise, AL.  But not before some major trauma the night before.  Madeline fell down the stairs at her Mamaw’s House, bruising her eye, and knocking out a tooth…completely out.  We rushed her over to the ER where she had xrays done.  Thankfully, nothing was broken.  We were told to follow up with a pediatric dentist by the end of the week.

 We arrived in Enterprise late Tuesday night, and got to finally see Adam on Wednesday morning.  We have had a great time together though, I must admit, Adam’s work schedule is hard on us.  He sleeps during the day, and works at night.  So I have been feeling lonely. 

I have unpacked the living room and dining room.  The upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms are next.  I just have no energy to do so.  We have no tv at all.  Yes, that means I cannot watch LOST tonight.  The cable co can’t come out until the 19th.  It’s weird not watching the news and finding out what’s going on.

 So we’ve rented some movies and are just going to watch them tonight. 

4 more days til the big move!

On Friday morning, I walked into school with a lump in my throat.  All morning I walked around with said lump in my throat.  Until lunchtime.  The faculty had a huge lunch catered for me.  In the middle of the table was a card that was signed by everyone and a cash gift.  Packing up my classroom was hard, but what was even harder was saying goodbye to my students.  They made me little notes, and cried as they hugged me goodbye.  I walked out of the building with tears coming down my face.

I love teaching.  I love all that those children have taught me throughout the years. 

I wish them much love and luck as they continue on their studies.  With that said, I leave you with my favorite quote.  One which I tell them everyday:

As I walked by the living room balcony, I noticed a HUGE moving truck pulling into the apartment building.  As promised, they arrived at 8am.  After moving the truck back and forth for what seemed like forever, they were ready.  I was asked to show them, room by room, what was going to be taken and what was trash.  After doing so, I was told to have a seat, and leave the rest to them.  They wrapped and packed each and every item.  Every dish, cup, and pan was wrapped.  Each box was carefully labeled and loaded.  The sofa’s, washer, dryer, tv’s, dressers, headboard, and footboard were all wrapped and padded.  I was very surprised they would send an 18 wheeler down to move our things.  We didn’t take up 1/3 of the truck.  I asked if they had other order’s to fill and take down too.  They said no.  The entire truck was ours. 

While I signed some paperwork, they threw the trash away, and vacuumed the floors.  6 hours laters, and without me moving a finger, our 2 bedroom apartment in Chattanooga was empty. All of our belongings were in an 18 wheeler, on it’s way to Alabama to begin our new journey.

The movers are coming tomorrow to pack and ship our belongings to Enterprise, AL.  I’m extremely nervous about our things being misplaced, lost, stolen, broken, dirty, or never arriving at all.  They came over yesterday to do a survery of our things.  They measure and estimate weight.  That determines what size truck is needed.  “Sean” mentioned that the loading should be a breeze, as we’re not moving a stove, fridge, and/or dishwasher.  We are taking the washer and dryer, and that has become a pain to move.  Some OTHER company comes and disconnects it and prepares it for shipment.  So it looks like we’re going to have a million people at the apartment tomorrow.

I’ve been instructed not to pack anything.  The company is responsible for packing.  All I have to do is clean for the walkthrough on Friday afternoon.  Everything should arrive in Enterprise on Friday evening.  They will unload and put the beds together.  Adam will be responsible for unpacking and putting things in place for when I arrive in early Feb.

 I’m not holding my breath that it’ll happen.
